Free 2B P2P
We wanted one more little push close to April Fools’ Day to get some extra
media attention. It would help if The Honest Thief would be in the news once
again. So we were on the lookout for new leads. There was a story on the
Internet from a recent hearing of a House Judiciary Subcommittee in which
Texas Representative Jack Carter proposed that stiff prison sentences would
help stop piracy of copyrighted music. Pieter developed the idea that The
Honest Thief could help college students faced with charges as a result of
downloading pirated music. We would set up a legal defense fund we would
call “Free 2B P2P.”
