June, 2001 Meeting with the publisher Clint Greenleaf While Pieter was in the USA for a management program at Harvard
he had a meeting with Clint Greenleaf. Clint liked the book and thought that
the concept of The Honest Thief had a unique appeal. Pieter liked the idea
of reaching a wider audience. Clint and Pieter agreed to move forward with
publishing The Honest Thief in the USA. There was no concrete plan at that
time but they both felt that it would be worth the effort to see if they
could actually bring the message of the honest thief to the USA. There was
no time pressure and they both figured it would be good to try a unique approach
in acquainting the US public with the honest thief. 2001 was an extremely
busy year for Pieter. His company CBB had grown rapidly. For him this meant
that he had to devote all of his attention to shaping his organization. Nevertheless
Clint and Pieter kept working on ideas for The Honest Thief. |
