Pieter Plass
President and CEO
PGR, founded in 1996, focuses on developing and marketing creative business
ideas.
CBB, founded in 1968, provides project management for the construction industry.
The company has some 315 employees.
Pieter was born in the Netherlands, on February 3 1963. After high school
he attended a two-year course on automobile engineering at IVA, a technical
college in the Netherlands. In 1982 he started his business studies at the
City of London Polytechnic. This school combines the British conservative
school system with a modern curriculum. After working for his Bachelor's degree
of Business Administration for two years he switched to the American College
in London, an American school for international students. This enabled him
to continue his studies at an affiliated school in Atlanta. After his Bachelor's
degree he started his Master of Business Administration studies at Georgia
State University. After one year he decided to major in International Business
Administration, for which he transferred to Thunderbird in Phoenix. Thunderbird
is well-known for its international community of students and teachers, and
its excellent job training, as a result of its close links with international
companies.
Pieter graduated in 1988 and started to work as an assistant-manager for
CBB in the Netherlands. This company provides construction management services
for large building projects. In 1996 Pieter became the CEO of the company.
Over the past few years CBB has grown to be one of the leading companies in
the field of construction management.
Pieter is committed to a life of “continuous learning”. For him this means
working on acquiring new insights and skills by attending management programs
at various universities. These include Berkeley, Harvard, MIT and Stanford.
Besides working for CBB, Pieter is a management advisor, sets up management
seminars and contributes to the development of the field of construction management.
He has published various articles and manuals.
Pieter: "I am an entrepreneur of the worst kind: I see opportunities
everywhere and want to do more all the time. To the question “who is Pieter
Plass? I have just the one answer: “someone who enjoys his work and achieves
some small successes there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, which is why
I venture a lot!"
